*I, Alyssa, am not paid for this review. This article is my personal experience and opinion*
Projected to be under a 5-minute read + the time of the short video.
1 Meeting Can Change Everything. Part 1.
Imagine for a moment that you are a 20 something-year-old. You are about to finish your college education, you aren't necessarily confident in your degree choice, and you are not sure what you should choose to do next.
The first thing is to get a job, but you have a pull between what you like to do and what you could or think that you should do. Your thoughts tell you that you can't do what you like to do, no one would take you seriously, that it probably would not work out, and you think all sorts of limiting beliefs.
1 Meeting Can Change a Life. It changed mine.
Alyssa, like many others, found herself at this stage of life in late 2019. Amidst all of the uncertainty that she had, it was thought that a move might be a good idea. It would probably offer more work opportunities than the small town where she lived. Alyssa agreed. She wasn't sure yet about the moving details, but Florida was high on her radar.
Meanwhile, her parents had an opportunity to go to Israel (set for January 2020). Her dad felt led to invite her to join their trip. Alyssa graduated in Dec 2019, she and her family went to Israel in Jan-Feb of 2020.
It was supposed to be a trip taken together but somehow the arrangements were changed by the company. Alyssa was placed on a different bus, group schedule, and with different sleeping (which was the only thing that went as planned) arrangements.
Alyssa decided that this could very well be what G-d wanted. So she was determined to be content with whichever outcome, and she looked for what G-d could be trying to communicate through it all. Long story short. She hardly saw her parents during the trip, but she clung closer to her relationship with The Creator.
Later, the Family returned home from the trip but also just in time to start hearing all of the news of the virus and borders closing. Then began a year of complete uncertainty and much chaos for the world and our usual way of living.
We were all challenged, most were faced with the tragic passing of a loved one or the loss of something (like a job or work opportunity that was) important to us, some lost a lot more. 2020 was a year of instability in various ways. There were also times of learning through the chaos and growth after many of the hardships.
For Alyssa, she found herself in a state of mind that she had never experienced before. The opportunities that she was looking for after graduation came to a halt, with no move or job on the horizon. After a while of feeling lost, she was losing hair in amounts she had not been used to, she started a nightly routine of subconsciously grinding her teeth (aka, bruxism).
She was stressed under the weight of responsibility but with uncertainty for her livelihood and future. She became sad at her then-current state, much so to the point of depression and self-neglect. It was a hard place and state to overcome. It took time.
Much of mid-2020 feels like a blur when Alyssa looks back on it. There was a lot she just wanted to leave there in the past. Moving onward, in late 2020, Alyssa was invited to visit family in Tennessee. That trip of a month or so was much needed for her overall health and healing.
*The above was my first attempt at a video. I know it has mistakes. Though, I hope you find something positive from the video regardless of my inexperience.* Also, If you have any, please feel free to share your positive messages and words of encouragement for 20-year-olds (and around that age) in the comment section. Thank you for your time.*
When Alyssa returned home from TN, she felt that maybe what she wanted to do (and had been doing on a small level, e-commerce) could be possible (on a larger level). She had a heart-to-heart conversation with her mother who reminded Alyssa that she could also pour her heart out to Adonai (The G-d of The Bible).
Alyssa did take that all to Him too. It was not long after, that her mom saw an ad on Youtube. Mom went to her daughter and said, "Hey Alyssa, remember that conversation we recently had, and you said that you wanted to do this, that, and the other but wasn't sure how you could do it all. Well, I saw an ad on Youtube, and the guy said just the stuff that you were talking about. Come here and see."
Alyssa was used to seeing some sketchy ads on Youtube, so she was leary, but she went to check it out because her mom was excited about it. When Alyssa looked, she found a video much like this short video below which is about the Life On Fire 7 Day Challenge for the year 2021.
Mom was right, it was a message to get excited about. This 1 meeting changed everything. It also put Alyssa in a place to meet like-minded people and make connections which led to a ripple effect of change in her life.
